Recently the members of First Coast Romance Writers voted to discontinue the sale of their anthologies that are more than a year old. It seems that with the recent changes to Amazon’s Kindle Exclusivity deal no version of an author’s story may be published anywhere else in eBook format in order for the author to list their novella in the program. All of the anthologies published until the end of 2024 are now unavailable for purchase in eBook format. The board members are working on adding the paperback version to our store to connect through a print-on-demand house so that anyone wishing to purchase the stories in our anthology format will be able to purchase the paperback editions. The individual authors will have to publish their novellas themselves in any format they wish after their contract ends with First Coast Romance Writers.
Since, it is the mission of FCRW to educate our members on the entire writing and publishing process, the board and members have approved the creation of Print-on-Demand merchandise to be sold to help fund our writing workshops, our member’s yearly retreat, Super Saturdays and other programs that help our members learn more about writing romantic fiction, editing, publishing and digital marketing. None of the fees collected will be used for any other purpose. To that end our merchandise will only have a 20% market-up over wholesale prices keeping them as economical to our members, romance readers and future members as possible in the hopes they will purchase and enjoy them.
Our members have been invited to submit their designs for adding onto T-Shirts and Coffee Mugs.
